To bail or not to bail…that is the question…Actually the question is do you TRAIN on this procedure?…It’s dangerous but…check out this video on the head first, it’s pretty intense,let’s not forget to ALWAYS ladder the building while our crews are working on the 2nd floor(D/E’s). Moreover how about laddering at a lesser angle for this very reason?

Glad the brotha made it out but I can tell ya he has not trained on ladder bails…you can tell that by watching. If that fire was shitttin & gettinn like it was in the beginning of the video & he had to bail, his lack of training would have put him on his head….no doubt. Gotta train like you life depends on it, unfortunately…a lot of firemen just dont “Get it”.
